Florida State plays home games in Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, the on campus stadium of Florida State University, which is in Tallahassee. It can hold up to 82,300 people, and it is often filled with that many fans cheering cheering for the Seminoles on gameday! The stadium was named for Doak S. Campbell, the president of the university at the time of its construction, and the field was named for legendary head football coach Bobby Bowden.
Bobby Bowden is currently the head coach of the team, with a record of 309-91-4, and leading the team to their 2 national titles in 1993 and 1999, he is the best coach the Seminoles have ever had since their beginning in 1899.
From 1905 through 1947 The college was a womens only college, and there was no football team. But in 1947 the end of WWII brought pressure on the university system in Florida and the school was changed from Florida State College for Women to Florida State University and men were allowed to attend the university for the first time since 1905. Football then returned to the school.
Florida State's all-time record is 450–216–17 and they have won 2 national titles and 15 conference titles, along with having 2 heisman winners and 16 All-Americans. A very accomplished set of stats.
